About Us

We love family! We’re a family team—Carmen will be your primary photographer with her apprentice, Abby, helping with equipment, settings, and administrative duties. The head of the family, Bill, supports us in this venture, while, considering the present economy, we contribute to our family goal of retiring all debt. Jesse and Seth have apprenticeship roles at MEGApix as well.

We’re different! Our multi-fold purpose in building MEGApix Photography began with my (Carmen’s) love of art and photography as a child when I traipsed through the dried grassy plains of South Dakota under my mother’s instruction, looking for dilapidated buildings with character so that I might preserve them on film. Mom also passed on a love of art that I shared not only with her, but her mother as well, a love I continue to develop in my children! In portrait photography, I apply my love of beauty and art to portraiture, capturing your timeless moments with creativity that enhances the beauty of the occasion.

For many years I’ve contemplated the question, “How can I use art and photography for God’s glory?” While I listened to some teaching recently reminding me of the importance God places on caring for the poor and needy, God answered my dilemma. He showed me that I can use the gifts He gave me, doing something I love, to bless the poor and needy of this world by splitting business profit with them and by providing our services at a considerable discount. You will find links on the MEGApix Home Page that will take you to the websites of three ministries so that you can learn about them. You’ll then be allowed to choose from among them to decide where your 50% will go. (Sorry, no other charities will be considered at the present time.)

To restate our purpose in simple points:
·         To glorify God
·         To give to ministry
·         To conduct business as a family with all the benefits in training, togetherness, and character development that entails
·         To provide quality portraiture at a discount
·         To provide excellent service (Expect your portraits in your hands two to four weeks after our session, max.)
